Kassidy Woods

Kassidy Woods was a former wide receiver in Auburn University. In 2021 and 2022 he played for the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). In 2021, Woods received Honorable Mention in the Big Sky with 43 receptions, 483 yards, and 4 TDs.

Before transferring to UNC, was previously at Washington State University (WSU), where he was a leader on the team and campus. Kassidy co-founded the Black Student-Athlete Association at WSU; he was a football leader in WSU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee; he was a WSU football representative for the Pac-12 Student-Athlete Leadership Team; and was a part of the D-1 Student Athlete Connection Group.

Kassidy was also a founding member of the Pac-12 WeAreUnited movement that stood for health and safety protections for college athletes during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as racial, social, and economic justice by ending amateurism. Retaliation against Kassidy for these actions led him to a greater understanding of how institutions of higher education will work against you when you speak out against them and their actions.

This experience led to Kassidy’s affiliation with, and passion for, the CFBPA. Kassidy believes this association will allow college football athletes to be politically and economically empowered and organized. He believes that the CFBPA will give college football players the unity they need and be a safe space for them to communicate with each other and to build community.

Kassidy is the son of John Woods Jr. and Jerline Higgins. He has 6 siblings — 2 older brothers, 2 younger sisters, and 2 younger brothers. Having a big family has always motivated Kassidy to think of others before himself and have an appreciation for understanding how to communicate and understand people. Woods recently graduated with a degree in psychology and will be pursuing his next degree in philosophy.

Kassidy wants to use his voice to empower college athletes to become united across the all college sports.
