Edwin Garrett
Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Edwin (Ed) Garrett was a three-year starter and a five-star recruit out of high school where he was also was a three-star athlete in track and baseball. For football, he received scholarship offers from over thirty Division I schools and was once rated one of top 50 high school players in the nation.
In college he played in the late nineties and early 2000s for the University of New Mexico. He was a player on the team when they won the 1997 conference championship and participated in the Insight Bowl. Although possessing elite speed — Ed once clocked a 4.26 40-yard dash — he spent most of his college playing career as a backup safety and cornerback due to injuries.
Today, Ed is an entrepreneur, real estate investor and a high school and college athlete advocate. He started a sports recruiting and consulting company helping parents, kids, athletic trainers and coaches connect. Ed lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and is the owner of a pest control company. He received his college degree in business communications.
